Students begin to engage in the webquest and agree to accept taking the journey of helping Pirate Pete. They will answer the initial questions of what they already know about mapping? And, What would you like to know about mapping?

Explore

Students begin the quest and attempt to answer the key question before they start. Brainstorm ideas of what will help them help Pirate Pete?

Look

Students complete all lesson tasks completing a series of worksheets and activities answering the question: What are the basic features of a map?

Sort

Students open the evaluation page being introduced to the assessment task criteria. The question they will be answering is: What have I learnt that will help me with my assessment task? i.e compass, scale, key/legend etc.

Test

Students will complete Assessment Task 1 answering the question: What is the best way to send Pirate Pete to get him to Bundaberg the quickest and safest way?

Act

Students will complete Assessment Task 2 answering the question: What is the best way to give Pirate Pete directions to find the hidden treasure?

Reflect

Students will go back to the KWL link on the Introduction Page and answer the final question: What have I learnt about the basic features of a map?
